NEW DELHI: India’s drug regulator has allowed Mylan to expand the indication of remdesivir to “for moderate Covid-19 patients” after the global drug major approached it with a proposal seeking the expansion. “After detailed deliberation the committee recommended for the grant of permission for expansion of the indication for moderate Covid-19 patients in addition to the already approved indication,” said the minutes of the subject expert committee meeting dated October 9. Currently, remdesivir is allowed for emergency/compassionate use in treating severely-ill Covid-19 patients.
