Cross-country surveys find Indians would go for sustainable travel, contactless entertainment after lockdown is lifted

Perks of freelancing
Payoneer, which helps in streamlining global commerce for millions of small businesses, marketplaces and enterprises from several countries and territories, reached out to over 1000 freelancers in over 100 countries to get an in-depth understanding of the impact on demand for services.

Some highlights included that 53% of freelancers believe that demand will increase as compared to what it was before Covid-19, with a further 21% expecting demand to revert at least to how it was prior to the crisis. Many respondents of the survey also believed that self-employment could become more stable than full-time jobs.


Another highlight showed that freelancers’ managing teams are showing real resilience – 74% responded that they are not downsizing their team, 83% said that they will not be reducing their team’s pay.

BookMyShow did a survey of over 4000 respondents who are active on their site and it reveals that South India misses its entertainment the most, with 56% of respondents from the region eager to catch their favourite movie and/or concert post the lockdown.

54% of Indian entertainment lovers are eager to get to theatres within 15-90 days of the lockdown lifting while the rest would prefer to step out after 90 days. A contactless entertainment experience is what Indians want all the way! 85% of consumers surveyed prefer purchasing their tickets online with the M-ticket & e-ticket option being preferred for a contactless entertainment experience.

Travel time
Preferred Hotels & Resorts conducted a global future travel survey with 4000 members from across the world and it revealed some interesting facts into the mind of the global traveller. More than 50% of respondents say they’ll book a trip in 2020, and most will do so as soon as travel restrictions are lifted. They want to travel.

75% of respondents plan to travel with family, having spent so much time apart. They are ready to reunite with loved ones. More than 50% of respondents intend to travel regionally or domestically. They are eager to explore their own backyards. Despite a strong desire to stay regional, over 40% of respondents still want to travel to another continent. They want to see the world.
