'Panga' actress Kangana Ranaut found herself in the eye of yet-another storm this week over a tweet which seemed to have hit a wrong note with the netizens. And this time she was critiqued on Twitter by singer Diljit Dosanjh who has been actively supporting the farmers' protests in the national capital. The 36-year-old Punjabi singer slammed Ranaut for her tweet, in which, she had wrongly identified an elderly Sikh woman as Shaheen Bagh activist Bilkis Bano.

Dosanjh, the voice behind multiple chartbusters including 'Laal Ghaghra' and 'Ikk Kudi', shared a 2-minute-long BBC India video in which Mahinder Kaur, whom Ranaut had wrongly identified as Bano, is seen sharing her views on the contentious farm bills that have triggered the ongoing protests.

Dosanjh, in his tweet written in Punjabi, urged the National award-winning actress to not be swayed by biases and watch the video he posted for confirming Kaur's identity.

Ranaut hit back at Dosanjh with a tweet implying that the singer was a part of the Karan Johar clique. She also tried to defend her earlier tweets by saying that 'Shaheen Bagh dadi' Bilkis Bano was indeed seen protesting for farmer's rights as well, and that she herself didn't know Mahinder Kaur.

Dosanjh was quick to retort, questioning her about her loyalties while signing films and other projects in B-town. He also slammed her stating that they were not Bollywood folks but people from Punjab who would give a befitting reply to her dramatic efforts.

An Internet troll responded to Dosanjh's tweet saying that he shouldn't criticise Ranaut as she is a popular artiste. "Veere tere punjabi gaane chalde aa eda matlab aa nai k tu kujj vi ava tava boli jaae. Bolan toh pailaan maadi jai tameez sikh le vadiya rauga. Kangana nu gaalan kaddan naal tenu vaadu Bollywood diyan filman nai milan laggiyan. Jenna tu aa onna hi reh. (Brother your Punjabi songs are popular that doesn't mean you can say anything. Please learn some manners before you speak. Criticising Kangana won't get you more films in Bollywood)."

Responding to the tweet, Dosanjh said, " Filma Asi Aap Produce Kar lene an Madam .. Kisey ton Leyn di Lodd Ni.. Apni madam Nu Samjha Tameez Naal Bole Sadian Maavan Nu (We can produce our own films, we don't need anyone. Please ask your madam to speak to our mothers with respect)."

In the interview by the BBC, Kaur and her other friends at the protest said that Ranaut should come and work in the fields for a day to know what farmers have to do. “We will give her Rs 100 in the evening,” said a woman in the video.

Ranaut has been slapped with a legal notice as well. Advocate Harkam Singh, in the legal notice dated November 30, suggested that the actress should have authenticated information before posting it on social media and demanded an apology over her tweets, in which she allegedly misidentified Kaur.

Kangana Managed By Sister Rangoli; Other Celebs Who Too Mixed Family & Showbiz

Actress Kangana Ranaut is used to making news, be it for winning a National Award, creating waves at the box office, or even for her personal life. The actress is known to not mince her words, even if it means things not always working in her favour. While Ranaut doesn’t shy away from commenting on issues she feels strongly about, recently the ‘Manikarnika’ actress has been receiving flak from a section of the media.

However, it’s not just Ranaut’s statements that have come under scrutiny, but also that of her sister and manager, Rangoli Chandel. Chandel’s tweets often slamming anyone and everyone in Bollywood, have received criticism. Several fans have even taken to the microblogging site to say that Rangoli, whose Twitter bio reads 'Manager & Sister to #KanganaRanaut' may be harming the 'Queen' star's image and overshadowing her work. some have even requested the actress to hire a professional publicist.

But Kangana isn't the first celebrity to be managed by a family member. Several others have also taken the family route when it comes to professional matters.

Queen Bey and her father-manager Mathew Knowles's fallout was the stuff of headlines. While the 67-year-old now claims that he shares a good relationship with both his daughters, Beyoncé and Solange, after having learnt to switch from manager to father, it wasn't always the case. Mathew not only managed 'Destiny's Child' but reportedly also trained three members to sing.

Mathew was around right from the beginning of Beyoncé's career, until over a decade later when on March 28 in 2011 the 'Sorry' singer announced that the duo were going their separate ways, and the decision was mutual.

Since the split, the singer has been managed by her own company, Parkwood Entertainment.
