Dr Sunita Gandhi feels her personal and professional life have been merged amidst this pandemic.
Working from home has been a bliss for Dr Sunita Gandhi, Founder, Global Classroom Private Limited (GCPL) and Global Education and Training Institute (GETI) so far.

"I’ve been more productive, more accessible, and more connected with my team. Even a client meeting or an interview is now just a click away. My physical office has now turned into a permanent meeting link that is known by all my colleagues. They can reach out to me as and when required through that link. Unlike earlier when meetings were cumbersome and consumed a lot of time spent in travelling, they are more efficient, focussed and constructive now. I mostly use Zoom and Google meet to connect with my team. My home itself is an office space for me right now. I enjoy the freedom of being anywhere and keep working. I often dress up for my calls and meetings, and I also dress up for my interviews. It feels good to get into that formal attire occasionally," she told ET Panache.

Gandhi feels her personal and professional life have been merged amidst this pandemic. "As far as my daily routine is concerned, it usually starts at 9 in the morning and I’m up till 12 or 1 in the night. During the day, I’m either occupied with my meetings or my children as I ensure they are getting my attention. I look after my son here and have regular communication with my daughter also. I keep juggling between looking after them or my elderly parents when I’m not working," she said.

The lockdown and the looming fear of the global pandemic has made all very conscious about inner and outer health.

"I take walks in the morning and the evening. I also enjoy few minutes of early sunrise to gain energy for the day. I also do a mix of yoga and other exercises to keep my body active. At home, we follow a strict regimen when it comes to eating habits. I do my fair share of diets and detoxification as and when possible," Gandhi said.

Thanks to this time that she got with her son, Gandhi has developed a new routine of playing board games with him. "We play Chinese checkers and Mastermind. I must say, I enjoy the time I get to spend with him more than these games," the 59-year-old from Lucknow ended.

“I decided to use this opportunity to improve my physical conditioning. I started cycling (after more than 40 years) inside my gated community from mid-April. I went from seven kilometres per ride to 20 kilometres by the end of June. Recently, I did a 52-kilometre ride to Chikka Tirupathi [on the outskirts of Bengaluru]. Cycling has had a huge impact, not just on my physical conditioning but also my confidence.”

“Startups are quite demanding, so I’ve never been able to work out more than three days a week, even when I trained for the Ironman Triathlon. So, when the lockdown was announced, I decided to challenge myself with a ‘consistency goal’ of accomplishing a workout a day. It began with coordinated workouts on Zoom with my friends and as restrictions eased, I started going for outdoor runs. There were days when there would be so many calls that I’d be seen climbing the building stairs at 10 pm. I now have more than 100 days of workouts under my belt and it has been the biggest stressbuster.”

“During the lockdown, I have managed to master single-leg burpees. It’s important to have a defined schedule and stick to it. I ensure that I block out some time during the day for exercise. I work out at home daily with various bodyweight exercises — I do pushups, burpees and air squats. I love doing CrossFit and high-intensity interval training that combines weightlifting, aerobics, powerlifting and gymnastics.”
