The end of the road: OnePlus bids farewell to 3 and 3T with final security update

OnePlus has started rolling out phase 1 of the final update.

The update includes security patch for October 2019, along with various bug fixes and improvements.
Both OnePlus 3 and 3T are two pieces of tech from OnePlus which have aged like fine wine. Launched in 2016, both 3 and 3T gained mainstream popularity and were extensively used by people globally. However, after providing three years of security updates, OnePlus has reached the last leg of the update cycle.

According to OnePlus’s software maintenance schedule listed on forums.oneplus.com, the final security update for the phones was supposed to be rolled out with October 2019 patch. And living up to its promise, OnePlus has released the final update.

The update marks the end of a 3-year run for 3 and 3T. OnePlus has started phase 1 of rollout for the last update. In the first phase, the update will reach only a few phones and once the company confirms that there are no major issues, it will be rolled out to the rest of the devices.
