CHENNAI: The number of Covid-19 deaths rose to 16 on Sunday after reporting under 10 deaths last Monday.
This takes the death toll to 11,793 in the State, the media bulletin confirmed.
The number of cases, however, continued to decrease with 1320 people testing positive for the infection on Sunday as opposed to 1366 on Saturday.
The total tally of cases in the State stands at 790,240 now.
Chennai's cases dived below 350 cases on Sunday with 346 people testing positive on Sunday as opposed to 353 on Saturday.
As many as 1398 people were discharged on Sunday, taking the total discharges to 767,659.
Testing, however, went up down from 70,412 on Saturday to 70,299 on Sunday.
