Apple launches Series 6 watch, 8th gen iPad, Fitness+ in the mega event
Series 6 watch
The Apple Watch Series 6 is the first product Apple announced. On the inside, the Series 6 is packed with new capabilities. You can measure blood oxygen directly using the watch, in just 15 seconds. Apple Watch Series 6 houses a faster S6 System in Package (SiP) and next-generation always-on altimeter, along with its most colourful lineup yet, featuring a beautiful palette of new case finishes and bands.
Cheaper Apple watch SE
After witnessing the success with its cheaper iPhone SE series, Apple has now launched Watch SE at a more affordable price, featuring the largest Apple Watch display, fall detection, advanced fitness features, and Family Setup with watchOS 7. Apple Watch SE (GPS) starts at Rs 29,900 and Apple Watch SE (GPS+ Cellular) begins from Rs 33,900.
Apple also announced Apple One, bundling services such as television, music, games and a new virtual fitness service. Apple One will cost $15 per month for an individual plan or $20 per month for a family plan. The subscription service will share metrics with users in in real time, and have new workout classes every week. This will include dance, yoga, cycling, HIIT, strength and core.
iPad 8th Gen
The iPad 8th Gen, with the iPadOS 14, works with keyboards and the Apple Pencil and is priced at $329. The education-version comes at $299. Orders open today in the US, and availability begins from Friday.
Free software update
The most prominent change in iOS 14 is a redesigned screen. In iOS 14, Apple users can pin widgets with updating information on the home screen, including calendar and maps mini-programmes. Users can drag a widget onto the iPhone home screen, where it will remain.
The company also introduced the eighth-generation 10.2-inch iPad with Retina display. Starting at just Rs 29,900, the iPad features the powerful A12 Bionic chip that brings the Neural Engine to the entry iPad for the first time.
