“Banking and Financial Services continues to play a critical role in our growth strategy, and our leadership team must position Cognizant to win in the digital era. With that in mind, I’m pleased to announce Daniel Cohen as our new Senior Vice President of Banking and Financial Services for North America,” D K Sinha, head of Cognizant North America, said in an email to employees. “I’m eager for Dan to bring a fresh perspective, new energy and even greater client focus to BFS.”

Cognizant will grow at the slowest pace in its history this year, as its two key business verticals, healthcare and banking, have struggled to expand.

Last quarter, the company announced that former Wipro healthcare executive Jeff Heenan-Jalil would take over as head of its healthcare division. Cohen’s appointment now gives the company a head for its North America banking business. Overall, BFSI contributes over 34% to its revenue.
